Concurrent Document Views

Saturday, October 28, 2006

WebEdit.NET has been supporting multiple document views for some time now. From now on, users may also view them concurrently. See here.

Editing is still limited to the source view. Having other views reflect edits, or even selection changes, is still on my to-do list as well.

View providers may now supply toolbar items for WebEdit's document toolbar as well. All that's needed is to implement IWebEditDocumentViewProvider2. The built-in Encoding View provider seizes this great opportunity, so users can now choose the layout (either breaking lines at every so many characters, or at every line break in the source) as well as the numeric base (binary, octal, decimal, or hex).
